COVID-19 Safety

As a scientific society, we support vaccine research as an essential tool in the fight against infectious diseases, including the current pandemic. For the health and safety of our members and community, EB 2022 is requiring COVID-19 vaccines for anyone attending the event. EB has partnered with HealthShield/42Chat to verify participants’ vaccination status.

To verify EB participants’ COVID-19 vaccination status, HealthShield/Chat42 will send a secure link via text message (SMS) to participants after registration. If HealthShield/42Chat cannot reach you via text message, EB will contact you at a later time about an alternative method to provide proof of vaccination.

Mask requirements are still under discussion and will take into consideration state and local guidelines in place closer to the start of the meeting, including those put in place by the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

End of an Era

After more than 25 years, 2022 marks the end of an era—the last EB meeting. We plan to go out with a bang! EB 2022 will be a great meeting where we'll appreciate our past and look forward to the future. Stay tuned for details, save the date and plan to be in Philly April 2–5.
