Work-Life Balance: Avoiding Burnout

The Career Opportunities in Physiology Committee (COPC) is proposing a 3-part symposium series focused on the theme ‘Work-Life Balance’. This theme was chosen after surveying APS committee members and will address a timely and important topic among students, faculty and researchers, particularly following the challenges imposed by the pandemic. 

The first session will address 'avoiding burnout' by Dr. June Gruber. Dr. Gruber is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado and Director of the Positive Emotion and Psychopathology Laboratory.

Thes second session will address 'self care' by Antonius Tsai. Mr. Tsai is the Director of Career and Leadership Development at University of Utah Health. 

The third session will address 'overcoming obstacles' by Dr. Sharon Milgram. Dr. Sharon Milgram is the Director of the Office of Intramural Training and Education at the National Institutes of Health.
