Symposium — Thursday, April 29, 2021 — 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM — Virtual Session, Room APS-2
Career Opportunities in Physiology Committee — Chair: Tracy Baynard — Co-Chair: Nirupama Ramkumar

The Career Opportunities in Physiology Committee (COPC) is proposing a 3-part symposium series focused on the theme “Staying Organized.”  This theme was chosen after surveying APS committees in career symposium topics for 2021, as this topic rose to the top in the survey results.  This proposal details the 3rd of the 3-part career symposium series:

Dr. Jane Reckelhoff is Professor and Chair of the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at University of Mississippi and served as the 89thDr. Reckelhoff’s engaging style and depth of expertise will help a wide group of audience from trainees to established investigators to stay organized. President of the APS. She has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health since 1998 and serves on the parent committee for program project grant reviews at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the NIH. Dr. Reckelhoff is also the principal investigator of a COBRE, Mississippi Center for Excellence. We would like Dr. Reckelhoff to discuss best practices for staying organized when writing grants, managing grants, and working in research centers.
